Designed in the classroom, this software has been developed to meet the specific needs of young children starting to use ICT in the UK. Everything has been made simpler, there are almost no wrong buttons to press and virtually no reading is required.
Children are able to start using 2paint as soon as they can start to hold a mouse. They can progress to using 2publish, making simple books, pictures, posters letters and envelopes. They can use 2count to explore basic data handling. 2go introduces control and allows pupils to give simple instructions to the computer.
As children enter KS1 they can continue to use the above programs, and extend their data handling skills with two more programs. 2graph makes a wide range of graphs and 2question introduces branching databases.
Each of the programs in the suite uses the same basic buttons, so that pupils are able to build and transfer their skills within the suite. They are introduced to important concepts in a child friendly way that allows them to work independently and creatively.
Teacher options are available to make changes to what children can (or cannot!) do; including the option to limit how often pupils can print !
The different frameworks offered by the suite provide a wide range of structures for pupils to work within. These give flexibility allowing children to focus on key ICT skill development in a focussed yet highly creative environment.
