Start-Up Religion

DESCRIPTION
"Start-up Religion" is a series of first RE books for pupils at Key Stage One, developed specifically to support units in the RE Schemes of Work. This title, now in big book format, is a perfect introduction to the Islam for young children, who are encouraged to 'discover' Religion on the page. Looking inside a mosque and meeting some Muslims who pray there are good ways for children to find out about Islam. This book shows what to look for in a mosque. It explains how the building and artefacts can help visitors understand Muslim beliefs about Allah, the Prophet Muhammad and the Qur'an. It focuses in particular: the five daily prayer times, the call to prayer, washing before prayer, facing Makkah and prayer movements.
